"Defamiliarizing Domesticity" deconstructs and reconstructs the architectural elements of an American townhome, estranging the familiar language of suburban housing typology. The work exposes the fragmented spatial and material logic that structure everyday domestic life, raising questions about the conventions of isolation embedded in suburban developments. Walls, windows, floors, and thresholds are reconfigured into unfamiliar arrangements that challenge the viewer’s assumptions about privacy, individuality, and the standardized ideals of home.
